What happened to Walmart stock? The stock did 3-to-1 stock split turning every one share into three shares. Effective date was February 26th, which the price was divided by three. The new stock price is around $58.50 as of February 26th, 2024.
The last time this happend was April 20th of 1999, stock split was 2-to-1. The stock opened at $15.33, five months later it was $15.50. By the end of the 1999, stock price was $22.29. Long-term the stock price went up.
Through the mutliple times Walmart has split their stock, the stock reacts in a wide range of outcomes.

Update: As of August 28th, 2025, Walmart stock price is currently at 96.30, that is an increase of approximately 65%. Looking back that would have bene great investment for my standards.
